Det tyder ikke på, at EU-Kommissionen kan få den nye tilladelse til Roundup igennem ved afstemning. Frankrig vil sige nej, Tyskland kan næppe sige ja, og hvis bare ét andet større EU-land siger nej eller stemmer blankt, bliver det et stop for ti år mere med det kontroversielle sprøjtemiddel. Industrien og ngo’er fører intens kampagne forud for afgørelsen
EU’s vagthund for fødevaresikkerhed har sikkerhedsanbefalet glyfosat, en vigtig ingrediens i det kontroversielle ukrudtsmiddel Roundup, men dele af rapporten, der ligger til grund, er kopieret fra producentens egne papirer
For mere end et år siden blev Miljøstyrelsen af fagfolk opfordret til at inddrage ukrudtsmidlet chloridazon i den faste grundvandsovervågning efter talrige overskridelser af den gældende grænse gennem en årrække. Efter lukning af flere fynske vandværker med giften i drikkevandet overvejer styrelsen nu sagen
